Latenight Shenanigans
I started this blog with the intention of writing about more than movies. So today my topic is late-night antics. I used to do these sorts of things when I had the means. And by "these things" I mean going out at 10 pm and getting home in the early hours of the morn.
I remember specifically one time, I was in a little podunk town near where I lived and me and a few other people were just sitting around, bored out of our little teenage minds at 1 am. I have no idea how we got to this point but by 2 am we were driving around in our underwear with Tiny Tim full blast. I included the song in the youtube video above. So you can imagine how ridiculous we were. So the inevitable happened. We're all singing along and being almost nude, smoking cigarettes and giggling, when I see the cop lights behind us. As any normal teenager would do when faced with the 5-0, I almost shit myself. My friend driving pulls over and soon enough there the big ol pig is shining his flashlight all up in the car. Grazing the light over my friend in the drivers seat, down to the folks in the backseat (there were about 3, I'm not sure though), and finally the cop gets to me, shining the light all over my bra and boxers looking like the most gender confused piece of fuck on the planet. The only words I can remember him saying was, "Y'all are half nekked in derr." And the next thing we know we're sitting on the side of the highway half nude at 2 am. Good times. I swear I must have about 50 stories like this, so if you enjoyed reading this, let me know!
Anyway guys, any good stories about shenanigans? I'd love to hear em.

Benjamin Button
The next movie up on my list is Benjamin Button. Its a fantasy tale about a man aging backwards in the 1900s. A great story premise, however maybe tedious at times. The special effects were better than I had anticipated, integrating star Brad Pitt's face into each of Benjamin's ages instead of using separate actors as I was expecting. The film doesn't exactly speed up at any point, as one would think it would. Many pros and cons to this film, and certainty not one of the best films ever made but as far as adequate storytelling- this movie does the job.
This movie has a general theme of aging. How do you feel about growing old? I know it sounds like a lame question, but bear with me. I didn't particularly have many things to say about this film.
The Chumscrubber
Another one of my favorite movies of all time- the Chumscrubber. Its a movie about a seemingly ideal society decaying to human nature. It begins with the suicide of Troy, a feel-good drug dealer. Except, even though Troy is dead, the demand for his pills are not. The story essentially follows Troy's best friend, Dean, through a series of attempts to get the drugs from Troy's room because threats from a group of high school bullies. If you have not seen this movie, you should!
*On a side note- I realized that this was the 2nd movie I've posted that features the acting of Carrie-Anne Moss. This was purely coincidental.
My question for you is- how do you feel about "happy pills"? Do you think its a travesty on society or is the only thing that may keep people from letting their negativity take over themselves? Or somewhere in between?

The Matrix
Last night I watched one of my old favorites- the Matrix. The film is about a computer programmer, Neo, who meets a group of rebels who reveal to him his true path as the One. Throughout the film, Neo discovers truths about reality and the false reality he was living in the Matrix. What I really like about this movie is the setting- the perfect 90s sci fi flick with the blue tints and the tan, blocky computers- right down to the clothes they wear inside and outside of the Matrix. I don't quite think theres anything I dislike about this movie. All in all I give it about a 10/10, its a classic for a reason, people. Watch it!

Introduction and Man from Earth
Hopefully I can make this a successful thing considering I was never that good at writing about things that interest me. Maybe this will do well. Maybe it won't.
Last night I watched a movie called Man from Earth and it was very interesting, albeit visually unstimulating. Taking place essentially within 1 conversation in a room, it was essentially about a man who had lived 14,000 years but had stopped aging at 35. He was a cro-magnon and learned with the human race. What I thought what interesting about this film was that it wasn't about the 14,000 year old man, it was about how the people in the conversation learned about history firsthand and how enraged human beings get when their beliefs about common sense, science, and not to mention religion, get shaken.
